The 3 girls from Holland have arrived, and after adjustment to the weather and the time difference they have started with the inroduction. After that they will start to work! And what will they do….

1. Presence of the kids: make a system and check which kids are coming and who aren’t and why they aren’t coming

2. Cleanness: making sure all the rooms and the house is clean and make sure people work with a cleaning system.

3. Facility / maintenance : some things are not done, badminton, paint etc because we have no one to follow up. so they can check and do these things

4. Category/arranging the file – toys – room : sort out the toys, books, cabinet according the categories we made.

Beside this, they will make a special project for Indoshelter. Their own idea, they will have a thought of that in the coming week. At the end of their stay they will hand in a review of the activities for us with their view about indoshelter, (problems, ideas, solution, critic, suggestion etc.)

So girls, good luck!!!

Ina, the manager and multi tasking wonder in Semarang has been very very busy lately. She had done more than we can write down in a short post… One of the things she has done is organize a wonderful coffee afternoon for all the people who have contributed to Indoshelter in some way. Or by doing things, buying things, donating things or all of them together. It was a very pleasant, informal afternoon! Thanks Ina!

We are having a few girls from Holland coming to do voluntary work, they are very enthousiastis and have their heads full of plans!

We saw you were busy with the outside playground. On the pictures of your second anniversary we saw that the walls are grey and there is no bamboo yet. You also said that you were looking for toys to play outside. We are wondering if you already have plans for the playground. We would like to create a nice playground for the children. For example with nice wall paintings, bamboo and different toys. We would like to know what’s your opinion about this. If you like this idea, maybe you could send us some pictures of the playground or could you describe it. We also want to know how big it is. What kind of toys do you already have?
We hope to hear from you soon!
Kind regards,
Lian, Susan, Ellen.

We will let you know what has happend with all their ideas!

yes we already exist 2 years!! And we have the same kids coming for already a long period. We are very happy with this as we can follow them and give them a good base and a real start in life.

To celebrate our anniversary the kids went to the museum. A place they have never been to before. It was an amazing day, with of course some nice food at the end. Great to be outside their ‘kampung’ and in a new world!

Thanks for everyone organizing this event!PICT0279PICT0276PICT0264PICT0261

Marry, our Spanish volunteer and Ritu have been busy with the cooking lessons in March, they both love cooking. And so did the kids! They love making tasty, healthy food. It is great to do something which is a success! We believe that is 1 of the main goals of Indoshelter, building self esteem, and building a future with opportunities for these children!
