This is the program of the afternoon groups, the first  (C)comes from 13.00-14.45 (6-10 syear old) and the second (D) from 14.30-16.00 (10-14 years old):

We try to give the children more confidents, build up their self-esteem, guide them with their school work, and develop their creative side. This last part, we believe, is very important to learn and think outside the square/box. When the children learn that there are more ways to do things and learn to use their brains on different ways we think they will be able to solve problems later in life and will be more successful in finding a job and keeping it!

We also provide cooking and sewing lessons. In these lessons we help the older children making their own small business plan. What to cook, how to cook, what to buy and if you would sell it, what should the price be so you can earn a little money? The children love this and it is very instructive.

We have a few children that go to school, but can’t read or write. They are behind in their development, in spite of the efforts of the school. Somehow they passed every school year. Now Keyko is helping them with some extra lessons to try to teach them to read and write. It is so good to see children getting more confident, healthier and happy. 1 Boy of the boys who had difficulties with reading at school can do a good job in reading now because of the extra lessons he got at the shelter. He stands up now, and you can hear him. Before he would make himself very tiny, and wouldn’t make a sound. That’s why we do this; it makes us so happy to see we really make a difference!
